it looks like a lovely magazine! lifting my spirits at the moment is the first smiles from my 6 week old baby :)
eeee im so excited to have a chance at winning one. um, hmm a dreary day? a good mag and a cuppa. of course that includes a comfy chair to read it in and a soft quilt. perfection
Congratulations! Color of any sort lifts my spirits on a rainy day--I especially like browsing through my favorite tear sheets from magazines or my flickr favorites for a bit of a cheer up.
Oooh, I'd love a copy - I browsed in a shop the other day. Lifts my spirits? Why, reading your blog of course! ;) Abby x (abbylaws@wyenet.co.uk)
Oh the cover of the magazine just screams to me - what a wonderful giveaway. A good cup of lemon zinger tea with honey, my children, and painting my toes a bright happy pink always lifts my spirits.
Friends and Coffee! I'll take them any day to cheer myself up!
I've been drooling over these magazines ever since I saw the apple cozies! Pretty please!!
I have been looking everywhere for that magazine! I even tried to get it when I went to London, but to no avail - so I would love to have one, and see your contributions!
Pomona x
i can't wait to see this magazine~
lifts my spirits? depends on the day-but sometimes a good craft read helps ;)
I have been so looking forward to this new magazine and seeing what you are sharing in it!!
Usually on dreary days I head to the cookbooks to find something yummy to cook up, it makes me happy just thinking about it.
My spirits are lifted with a cup of earl grey tea whilst crafting with friends :)
New yarn always does it for me, or a new project.
Love the look of this mag, can't wait to get my hands on a copy. X
Please don't enter me in your draw as I already have my copy of Mollie Makes and have read it from cover to cover! Just dropping in to say I love your contributions to the magazine, it really is a great publication and I'm looking forward to the next issue.
By the way what lifts my spirits on a dreary day is good food and friends and if it's not too dreary a lovely walk in the fresh air!
Vivienne x
Wow; has it been a week already?!
Oh I want this Lola! It's not available here yet & I NEED the one with YOU in it! xx
What makes me happy on a dreary day? Lots of things actually. Living where I live, things would be pretty dire if I let a dreary day get me down. Nice cups of tea, kiddie cuddles, inspiring blog posts, playing a game, snuggling up in front of the heater, lovely mail arriving on my doorstep.... I could go on & on but today is not a dreary day, it is crisp yet sunny & I've promised a big girl a trip to the park.
xx
Going for a jog and being outside, hanging out with my sister, watching the sunset at the beach.
anmcdavid@gmail.com
The best thing to cheer me up on an otherwise dreary day? My big sister making a surprise visit from Australia when I hadn't seen her for 6 years. Tears all round, but as I was just getting over a stroke was the best medicine ever. Now she's gone back home it'd have to be cuddling up with my lovely dog Roger and simple pleasures of a bar of chocolate and a good film.
Have tried and failed to get mag in lots of places, fingers crossed.
Claire x
I would love to win this.
A hug from one of my grandbabies makes me feel soooooo good.
grammypetals@yahoo.com
This may sound very english (and I'm Australian) but a hot cuppa tea brightens my day!
I want to win! If I am in the dumps, a pedicure usually does the trick.
something elemental like a fire (or even a candle at a pinch) and some knitting, naturally!
Top of the list would have to be the children's laughter/smiles/hugs. Then I think doing a bit of crochet - as I've only recently taken that up. And coffee - definately coffee!XX
Hmmmm, what lifts my spirits on a dreary day:
a surpise present in the mail
a pot of tea and biscuits
a snuggle in bed all warm and toastie with my little family
In no particular order!
I AM DYING to see that magazine! DYING! Dying!!!!!
I always look forward to a possible postal delivery but more so when I need something to brighten the day. A chance to sit down with a warm cuppa in my slippers with a good book and some quiet time fits nicely. Our cats and kidlets running amok also makes me smile.
You must be thrilled to be in the first issue! How exciting. I've looked at the mag online and am doing my best to get my local bookstore to try and stock it here in NZ but I'm not holding my breath! It's a dreary day here today so lighting the fire and making homemade pizzas with my small folk has lifted my spirits. Have a lovely week.
hm what lifts my spirits on a dreary day ? when the dreary if from something not going right, I go into the local craft shop just to feel & stare at the yarns. true! my hubby already knows that when I suggest we go there just to look it is not a good sign :D
when the dreary is from the weathe, well, nothing like a cuppa, joining the big kitty Farrusko in the sofa while watching my son play and going through a magazine. And when he decided to join the sofaholic team, then it is purrrfectly cosy.
I'm farruska from Flickr , btw :-)
Hi, thanks for the opportunity, we are a couple of sisters that really enjoy getting together with our cousins, we just cant stop laughing...no reasons needed!!
Hope we get lucky!!!!
Can't believe you've only just got it, thats mental.
Congratulations again. Oh and i don't want to be in the giveaway. My issue is already well thumbed. xx
Making something with crochet or embroidery lifts my day - always!
Here is my blog:
http://andasblogg.blogspot.com/
Chocolate, a glass of bubbly outside on a warm evening, brushing past the lavender in my garden, Johnny Depp's smile, the smell of my little man's freshly washed hair, my friends, the first slice of a freshly bought baker's loaf ... more chocolate! x
Wow, what a nice give away. It would be nice to have that issue here in the Netherlands.
Ooh I would love a copy :)
Right now, I am telling anybody that crosses my path, that the route to childlike excitement and joy, is through strawberry milk and custard doughnuts. I'm a girl of few needs, and doughnuts and milk make me very happy :)
Oh wow, another beautiful blog to brighten dull days in the offic... My manager will be pleased!
When I need my spirits lifting, nothing quite helps like snuggling on the sofa under a blanket, chick flick on the telly, cats curled at my feet and a pile of pretty coloured yarns to work into rainbows of granny squares. And a big mug of steaming builder's tea, of course!
ooooohhhhhh, the magazine looks absolutely delightful...... and when I need a little pick-me-up I like to go out for coffee and cake (preferably with my kiddlets) and then have a good browse round my favourite craft shop.....
D :o)
Oh gosh this magazine look JUST LIKE what I like! Crossing my fingers and toes. They look so oh good.
Um what cheers me up on a dreary day.. Oh a smile and kiss from my almost two year old, the older boys being calm (oh boy), yummy breakfast from hubby, a visit to playgroup or swimming for the little man or a meet up at the park with the other little friends!
Solution to a dreary day for me is a big cup of tea and knitting in front of re runs of Gilmore Girls. Of course a copy of Molli Makes would be really good too.
On those days I try to think of what I can make to help someone else be happy. I make all my gifts.
This mag looks fantastic! A dreary day is always made better with good company!
My family: My husband, my 2 sons and my crazy girl Nina :) (my sweet golden retriever) this all bring me up in blurry days :)
I love ur blog :)

I have to say it's coffee & cake! Simple & sweet! You can contact me on email through my blog profile or just leave a msg on my blog...if I should be so lucky x
My 18mth old giving me a huge snotty cuddle always liftsmy spirits ;)
On a dreary day, watching Jack and Ted, my 5 month old twins nattering away to one another never fails to make me smile. Goodness knows what they're talking about though. Maybe girls!
Well done you!!Looks like a great mag. Staying indoors with the TV playing, a cup of coffee in hand and some crochet really works for me.
What a fun looking magazine! I'd love to get a look at one to see if I should subscribe. Lifting my spirits...Only 16 more days of school until summer vacation! And then I can start planning things for a new curriculum in the fall ;)
These days, seeing my efforts in gardening turning into beautiful blooms brightens my days.
What lifts my spirits on a dreary day? Starting a new project which makes me glad to have to be inside. New sewing, new crocheting, new whatever project. It pretty much always cheers me to engage in some making of things.
Hello,
Oh a nice cup of tea lifts my spirits plus lots of roses blooming in the garden.
Happy days.
Bev.xoxo
Reading lovely blogs like yours lift my spirits on dreary days!
depending on how dreary the day is, i like to go for a walk in the woods and see all the green and smell the wet, fresh scent of the decomposing forest floor and fresh breath of the trees.... or maybe a bon bon. either one :)
Dreary day? It's been SOOOO long since we have had one of those! But seriously, being creative lifts my spirits on any day.
Ekk! I've been looking all over for this mag! Lucky you. What lifts my spirits is a couple minutes just to sit and knit.
Ooooh I'd love to win a copy of the new Mollie Makes!
To lift my spirits on a dreary day, I like to get baking to fill the house with gorgeous smells and then relax on the sofa watching the rain through the window with my little man (4) and a mug of hot chocolate each. Bliss!
Simple - a cup of tea, some crochet and maybe watching a movie are my "go-to" pick-me-ups on a dreary day :)
Jasmine
wahoooo! I'd love to read this mag, I missed the first issue. On a dreary day, wedding planning lifts my spirits. Crafting, buttons, sticking, making tons of gorgeous things for my wedding day on the 21.04.2012
What lifts my spirits on a dreary day is getting out and putting up a colorful happy yarn bombing tag like a pole piece, so that when someone see's it, they'll have a moment of laughter or happiness themselves, and then will go home and tell someone else who will have a moment of happiness aswell.
I have been searching high and low for a copy of Mollie Makes and my spirits have been decidedly brought low by my failed hunt. However, on a particularly dreary day, curling up with a mug of coffee in my favourite mug and a good book beneath my duvet and hand-crocheted blanket (took me months!) makes me cosy inside. Maybe baking some cakes... Good thing it hasn't been too dreary recently, or I'd resemble an elephant!
Find me at my blog: Emma's Emporium at wordpress :)
What lifts my spirits on a dreary day, is shutting myself in my studio and sewing all day :)
A warm fire, some good music, a cup of freshly brewed coffee and my knitting whether it's something for the family or something for my dolls, always lifts my spirits.
A friendly face, a hug... a good cup of coffee and some chocolate cake. Making stuff :)
Would love to win the mag, have been looking for it like crazy!
margarida
Finding something new accidentally- like stumbling across your blog today! So great! Has really lifted my spirits, honestly :)
My spirits are already lifted at the thought of winning the lovely magazine ....... although it isn't a dreary day today, far from it. But on dreary days my spirits are lifted by sitting in my little den, decorated with fairy lights, with a lovely frothy coffee, a lovely homemade biscuit, reading inspirational and beautiful blogs such as your own and clicking away with my knitting needles with some sumptious, vintagey-coloured yarn. x
it's gonna make me sound like a crazy lady but it's my kittens! (although at almost 6 months they are more like teenagers now). they want to be close to me at all times and follow me everywhere, sit on my lap and disturb my crafting, and mess everything up. but i can feel the endorphin surge when i see their fuzzy faces. sigh. i'm a crazy cat lady.
Oh I would SOOO love this, have been searching everywhere but nobody seems to have it or has sold out - DOH! ;) Dreams of sunshine, yummy homemade cookies and a spot of crochet would always lift my spirits on a dreary day oh and finding a fantastic tutorial of how to make something AMAZING is always a good one too! ;)
A Good hook and LOVELY YARN!
Congratulations Alex! I'd have to say it's a cup of tea and a seed catalog - vegetable porn.
Following along with my almost 4 year-old's imagination can lift my spirits on the dreariest of days. We can go anywhere in her mind! Thanks for offering the giveaway.
sarah [at] vraeden [dot] com
I love to get all cozy in my daybed with a cup of tea and an armload of magazines - then my kitties and corgis all pile on and I can read and doze for hours.
A good movie is a great spirit lifter in a dreary day, but so is browsing vintage stores and finding a treasure!!! Thanks for having such a lovely giveaway! Nic
The sound of my 17 month old son giggling away lifts any dreary day!
On a dreary day I love to find some "me" time for painting - always a treat!
Oh Lola...
What a fabulous giveaway...
I like nothing better than sipping on a cup of tea, a very cozy crochet blanket on my knees, a couple of chocolate biscuits and happy kids who find time to play "nicely"...
and of course some spare time to catch up on some blogs, magazines and patterns...
It depends! Knitting, reading, blogging, cross-stitching, sewing, spring-cleaning, embroidery, cycling with the kids, having a cofee ... see what I mean, it's hard to choose? If I had to pick one, it would be knitting (I'm aveage) or cross-stitching (especially Danish samplers)!! Would LOVE to win Issue 1, pretty please!
Wow, lots of comments! I love sitting somewhere cosy with a cup of tea & watching the rain out of the window - the nicest feeling is knowing the weather's rubbish but that you don't have to be out in it. Failing that, colourful umbrellas are the way forward :-)

Nothing beats a good movie and some chocolate! Although now that I have kids keeping them entertained is the priority!
What makes me feel good and relax, when I feel a bit down is have a cup of tea, work on a stitchery or on my hexagon quilt and watch The good wife or Grey's Anatomy. That way I seem to forget and come to rest (o:
What a lovely magazine. It looks so happy and bright. The smart phone cover is so yummy!!!
If it is dreary, rainy weather - a long walk with lots of puddle jumping! Then home to bake (or make) something yummy.
I would love a copy of Molli Makes - hard to find in Australia. But above that, I am happy to have found your blog; a new read - yay! :)
I could do with a pick me up right now. Good music, a cup of my favourite tea and the smell of something baking always cheers me.
A lovely sunny day with blue skies always lifts my spirits. Especially if I can make it to the beach that day.
I am very excited for Molly Makes because I am leaving New England for London soon... and I need things to do when I am there to keep my creative side occupied!

I would love to win a copy of mollie makes! I have been seeing it mentioned on various websites, it looks fantastic.
Oooh this magazine looks amazing and try as I might not a single shop I try no-one has it! So I wander around aimlessly wondering how to get my hands on this lovely looking issue. Fingers crossed you can help me out and I get lucky.
It looks like a magazine that I will enjoy reading and browsing on a dreary day.
Thank you for this opportunity, I live in Lebanon and don't receive this magazine, it will nice to check it, thank you again.
I hope I win, and good luck to all these lovely ladies,
Nathalie,

Hearing the birds singing!
Beautiful blog! I am new here from Tangled Happy - the magazine looks amazing! On a dreary day, I love to come home from work, put on comfy clothes and slippers, cook some comfort food, and hang out with my two sons. Nothing lifts my spirits more - thank you!
Andrea
Ooh please count me in, this mag looks fantastic! A pretend cup of tea, complete with pouring sound effects, from my one year old, brightens my day!
The magazine looks absolutly wonderful. Stacie
randyandstacie@aol.com
A hug from one of my kidlets brightens my day. Sounds trite, but it's true.
Anyway, I need a copy of this because I have a Mollie who makes. LOL
Drummer jokes of course! I'm also a huge fan of pretend conversations with celebrities. Yesterday I spent almost an hour thinking about what I'd say if Keith Richards and I ever happened to go on a pub crawl. I also have a bus trip with Oprah and stuck in a lift with Samuel E Jackson in the planning stages x
spirits are lifted with simple pleasures like: zesting a lime for fresh limeade, cutting fresh-from-the-garden rhubarb for a strawberry-rhubarb crisp, taking a walk at dusk...but cleaning toilets do not lift my spirits. just saying.
Reading gorgeous blogs like this one always lifts my spirits on a dreary day ♥
I'd love to win a copy, are you including overseas readers? It looks like an inspiring magazine, thanks for the giveaway :)
Thanks so much I would really , really love to win this !
Dark chocolate dipped pretzels REALLY lift my spirit!!!
Hope I am not too late to enter!

My little girl on my lap in our crafting chair. Her pudgy fingers on the hook, my hands over hers. Yarn wrapped around fingers, thumbs and sometimes the chair. Lots of giggling and tongues poking out of our "concentrating" faces. More bonding than crocheting. The best moments in life are never planned.
Sophies mum
Ooh - great! I haven't seen it here in France...,
I keep hearing great things about that mag!
My dreary day today was lifted by a little sick boy sitting snuggled by my side in his flanny jarmies and giving me a hug every so often :-)
