Give Away Monday!

To celebrate...

YOU!
I have one copy of this book to give away as an appreciation for all your commenting, visiting, sharing, and friendly goodness!

While I intend to keep this pretty simple, no tricky rules like tweeting, or following to get extra entries or the like. No, nothing of that sort but, what I would ask of you is this; please leave a comment on this post with a little tidbit of information about yourself. I'm not looking for a standard "Hello, my name is..." kind of thing. Nope. I want to know what music you have been listening to lately. Is there a song or a band that has you dancing, humming, dreaming or just making you happy? Tell me about it!

Commenting will be open until Saturday May 29th, after which I will devise some random picking method to draw a winner. I will announce the winner on Monday, May 31st. I will ship anywhere.

Happy Monday all!

  5. I am Amy, a mother of two little kiddos. Who are sweet most of the time. I have been married to my hubby for 7 years today!! I have just started sewing this year...I am still trying to get a good handle on using my sewing machine. My goal for the year is to make all the gifts my family gives this year. So far so good. I really need to start on Christmas presents so I don't have a ton of stuff to make in December.

  6. I really wish I could give you something good with the music, but I haven't really been listening to anything lately. My SIL recently recommended She and Him (sheandhim.com). How about that?

  7. There's always got to be music around here with a musician boyfriend, although we don't always have the same tastes. Lately, there's been a lot of Jewel playing in my car, awaiting the release of her next album due soon, and I also got a thing for Adam Lambert's Whataya want from me. Thanks for the giveaway, the book looks great.

  8. Lovely book that I would like to own. Not much of music listening here with 3 little ones at home. Children's songs, etc. But tonight I was at a restaurant with lovely background music from the 'good old' times: Enya, Sade, etc. lovely memories.

  9. I'm teaching my little misses to love ABBA, the song Mamma Mia seems to be a favourite. Our dancing is a little bonkers though, at 2, 4 and thirty something rhythm seems to elude us - need to work on that.

I am trained in fashion design and am pretty good at sewing - though I'm only just delving into making my girls some clothes - time is not on my side though as we recently took on an allotment so I am digging, digging, digging and all I really want to do is play with my girls, sew, crochet and bake.

I dream of having a cleaner...

  10. I'm Brittan and I am obsessed with fiber... I have wool stashed all around the house and many projects going on all at once! I have other medium I work in as well, such as watercolors... I have been working for 2 years now, on the illustrations for a children's book that I wrote.

Lately I have been inspired by music by Jonsi (lead singer from sigur ros), she & him, Emiliana Tourini, Fine Frenzy, Efterklang, Sunwrae... the list could go on!

Music is a big part of my life, my boyfriend is a musician and artist (he does big and little puppets...). We have been performing the story I mentioned earlier as a puppet show for children in our small stage!

  11. Ooooh what a lovely giveaway!
Lately my music tastes have been a little bit random, but when I'm sewing I like to listen to happy boppy music so Lisa Mitchell fits the bill perfectly.

  12. Oooh, she's full of suprises, this Ms Lola Nova! What a lovely gift for some-lucky-one!

I have been listening to a mixed cd of my own creation, fancying myself as a bit of a DJ or cashed up music producer... sticking to the old rules of 'the mixed tape' it has to flow, you know, moving from one style, tempo, mood, to another with ease & grace... included in this mix that I just never tire of are the likes of Feist, The Eels, Johnny Cash, Patti Smith, Nirvana, Mirah, Lou Reed... I could go on... and on... and on...

I am gearing up for our little movie premier in August.. down 25 lbs (put on hiatus because I didn't want my weight to fluctuate inbetween scene shots) but want to get down another 30 so I can wear a _fancy_ dress for the first time in my life.

  36. I really enjoyed todays post (a rainy day song) and was actually thinking of sending you info on my favorite band The Wailin Jennys. They are a Canadian group of three women and they have a song for every mood. I discovered them years ago and was finally able to see their concert last month. If you haven't heard them definitely check them out at http://www.thewailinjennys.com/
Oh, yah. My name is Elizabeth and I have two girls and a wonderful husband, blah, blah, blah ...
Seriously, go check them out. You will LOVE them.

  37. I'm in London, and have two wayward young boys and one wayward grown up boy. I work from a rambling shed in the back garden making things of beauty out of scraps of stuff and nonsence. Right now what keeps me sane is Mundford and Sons fantastic British nu folk band with burning Banjo's and foot stomping rhythms.

  38. What have I been listening to? I found an older cd at Goodwill and have been wearing it out. It is a blast from my past. Toad The Wet Sproket! I have not seen them for years, but their name always made me smile. It is not their normal heavier rockier sound, but a bit more mellow. If I remember is is called Dulcinea. It is in my car CD player and I am inside.

  39. Music, hmmm? I need to listen to more of that. I've got the radio on a lot of evenings, but I couldn't tell you what's been playing. But when I do get the record player rolling (OK CD player), I've been listening a lot to Carrie Newcomer (a folk singer with a wonderfully fresh voice). I also love Kate Wolf and Custer LaRue (with the Baltimore Consort). Custer LaRue is a bit more classical, but all of them have voices to die for!
Thanks for the wonderful giveaway! I'll check back to see if I'm the lucky winner.

This is a fabulous giveaway. Thanks for the chance to win. I'll check back when it's all over.

Since I have two young boys. I really like to listen to silence. Truly.
