  12. Please don't enter me in your draw as I already have my copy of Mollie Makes and have read it from cover to cover! Just dropping in to say I love your contributions to the magazine, it really is a great publication and I'm looking forward to the next issue.
By the way what lifts my spirits on a dreary day is good food and friends and if it's not too dreary a lovely walk in the fresh air!

  13. Wow; has it been a week already?!

Oh I want this Lola! It's not available here yet & I NEED the one with YOU in it! xx

What makes me happy on a dreary day? Lots of things actually. Living where I live, things would be pretty dire if I let a dreary day get me down. Nice cups of tea, kiddie cuddles, inspiring blog posts, playing a game, snuggling up in front of the heater, lovely mail arriving on my doorstep.... I could go on & on but today is not a dreary day, it is crisp yet sunny & I've promised a big girl a trip to the park.

    xx

The best thing to cheer me up on an otherwise dreary day? My big sister making a surprise visit from Australia when I hadn't seen her for 6 years. Tears all round, but as I was just getting over a stroke was the best medicine ever. Now she's gone back home it'd have to be cuddling up with my lovely dog Roger and simple pleasures of a bar of chocolate and a good film.

Have tried and failed to get mag in lots of places, fingers crossed.

  21. Hmmmm, what lifts my spirits on a dreary day:

a surpise present in the mail

  22. I always look forward to a possible postal delivery but more so when I need something to brighten the day. A chance to sit down with a warm cuppa in my slippers with a good book and some quiet time fits nicely. Our cats and kidlets running amok also makes me smile.

  23. You must be thrilled to be in the first issue! How exciting. I've looked at the mag online and am doing my best to get my local bookstore to try and stock it here in NZ but I'm not holding my breath! It's a dreary day here today so lighting the fire and making homemade pizzas with my small folk has lifted my spirits. Have a lovely week.

  24. hm what lifts my spirits on a dreary day ? when the dreary if from something not going right, I go into the local craft shop just to feel & stare at the yarns. true! my hubby already knows that when I suggest we go there just to look it is not a good sign :D
when the dreary is from the weathe, well, nothing like a cuppa, joining the big kitty Farrusko in the sofa while watching my son play and going through a magazine. And when he decided to join the sofaholic team, then it is purrrfectly cosy.

    I'm farruska from Flickr , btw :-)

  53. What lifts my spirits on a dreary day is getting out and putting up a colorful happy yarn bombing tag like a pole piece, so that when someone see's it, they'll have a moment of laughter or happiness themselves, and then will go home and tell someone else who will have a moment of happiness aswell.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I have been searching high and low for a copy of Mollie Makes and my spirits have been decidedly brought low by my failed hunt. However, on a particularly dreary day, curling up with a mug of coffee in my favourite mug and a good book beneath my duvet and hand-crocheted blanket (took me months!) makes me cosy inside. Maybe baking some cakes... Good thing it hasn't been too dreary recently, or I'd resemble an elephant!

  59. My spirits are already lifted at the thought of winning the lovely magazine ....... although it isn't a dreary day today, far from it. But on dreary days my spirits are lifted by sitting in my little den, decorated with fairy lights, with a lovely frothy coffee, a lovely homemade biscuit, reading inspirational and beautiful blogs such as your own and clicking away with my knitting needles with some sumptious, vintagey-coloured yarn. x

  60. it's gonna make me sound like a crazy lady but it's my kittens! (although at almost 6 months they are more like teenagers now). they want to be close to me at all times and follow me everywhere, sit on my lap and disturb my crafting, and mess everything up. but i can feel the endorphin surge when i see their fuzzy faces. sigh. i'm a crazy cat lady.

If I had to pick one, it would be knitting (I'm aveage) or cross-stitching (especially Danish samplers)!! Would LOVE to win Issue 1, pretty please!
