Unearthing

I have a feeling that some of you, like me, have a pile, a drawer, a cupboard, a corner, or a box of unfinished projects hidden somewhere amongst your crafty things. Perhaps you have bits of knitting, crochet with undone ends, scraps of quilts, little soft creatures missing ears and eyes, shirts that have needed mending since 2005, some ambitious embroidery that has gone untended maybe?

I was down in my spidery lair in the basement (otherwise known as my "studio"), shifting things about, when I came across one such pile. Long forgotten stitching in various stages of completion, and I do mean forgotten, like completely. I found there, this sweet little toddler deer dress. It's only missing button holes and a hem, why on earth was it never finished? Is there a 4 year old out there that never received her 1st birthday gift from me? Well, the only thing for it is to finish it off and add it to the drawer of future gifts to give, or pop it in the shop.

I wonder what else I might find...

What might you have in your "Undone" pile?

Oh, it's very cute. I love the deer!

I have a few unfinished crocheted things, but that's about it! I'm sure it'll get worse as I pick up new hobbies...

I have loads of unfinished stuff. My new years resolution was to finish some of these projects, and I did well for a while, but I got distracted by a bunch of other things. I really should remember to finish things. The dress is so cute by the way!x

I don't usually like orange but that is gorgeous. One day that will be someone's favourite dress!

Too many forgotten projects in my stash, quite frankly I dread finding them all.

Such a cute dress!love the contrasting colors!!
I have multiple piles of undone things-or WIPS. I should tackle them when I 'm not sure what to work on :)

I see cute chubby arms and a sweet sun hat going with that happy little dress.

Sadly, I have many more unstarted projects than unfinished.

'Quite a lot' is, sadly, my answer! But one day, like you, I will finish them all. Lovely dress - some tot will love it! Abby x

Love it!!! I am scared to look in my 'undone' pile - if I did I am sure to find a crochet bag I started but decided against the colors, experimental projects that were a little too experimental, and holiday items that didn't get finished in time for the holiday.

Oh, how could you have forgotten about that sweet dress? I love everything about it--the colors, the deer, the shape. I adore it.

Let's see--I've got two unfinished knitting projects, a pile of yarn sitting out waiting for me to create a project that's in my head, a bunting for a baby boy, and my husband's afghan request (stitching daily in time for Father's Day). Not bad, but it's not like me to abandon projects. I have resolved to get it all done, before I start something else!

It's a very cute little dress!

I don't tend to have too many abandoned projects, but I did find a sweater that I had altered the pattern for, without writing it down, and decided to frog it rather than try to decipher what I'd done! Oh, and the mending. That sits there forEVER!

The most adorable dress - it makes me wish that I had a four year old! And I am afraid that I am a very guilty party on the unfinished front ...

that dress is wonderful.
i don't really have an undone pile, i'm not that talented to have too many things on the go.

Oh my pile is very embarrassing. Large cross stitch projects I just up and quit on. Croqueted baby blankets 75% finished and then never completed. (The babies are probably in high school by now). Oh oh, the time I was really going to get into scrap booking... some many odds and ends.

I congratulate you on completing a retired project. The dress is adorable.

i have quite a few things unfinished, but sometimes i like it because i like to have multiple project to work on depending on my mood.

p.s.i have to say, the zip pouch you send me as part of a swap (from a while ago) is one of my favorite and it holds all of my little crochet hooks and related notions! plus i love how everytime i open it it smells like lavender because of the sachet you made and put inside!!!

That is gorgeous!

I'd have to move a lot of crap around to find my unfinished objects. They tend to get a burial by fabric and may later be exhumed for resurrection if they are accidently dug up :P

i usually only tackle things that can be done in one sitting, because i know it could be a loooooong time before i get back to them.
