Just a quick thought, please feel free to ignore it. A more or less straight up and down front or bust seam flatters no one even one as beautiful as P.G. Curve it in v slightly at the waist, may be by 1" max so line is slightly more diagonal. It's a pet hate of mine. All bodices of this style either for adults or kids have a basis in the Mid 1800's. And no Victorian female would ever be seen with an unflattering seam line. Well unless they were a factory worker or young enough to be sent up the chimneys!!
Thank you Flaming Nora! Tis quite unflattering!
I would have only tentatively suggested "waist shaping?". It's fortunate you have Nora :)
