We interupt your regularly scheduled programming

I had meant to go on about my usual business today but, you see, things took a turn.
Last night was spent in the Emergency Room of the nearest hospital. The Engineer had a rather nasty accident with a table saw. Oh my, I heard your collective gasps. I still cringe when I think about it. He is fine, well not exactly but he will be. They sent him home at about 3 a.m. and there has been little sleep since. He will be having surgery on his hand in the next couple of days. I know you will all understand that I will be taking a few days break to tend to my family.

Until next time, take good care of yourselves.

Lola I am so, sorry. This is not good. The Doctors are great with putting back what went wrong though. Prayers are being said for all of you. It is so hard to see your husband hurting, I do know. Keep us posted when you get a chance, we will be here.

Eek! You poor things - especially him, but clearly it's been nasty for you all. I've dreaded Ben doing something to himself, but so far, chemicals in the eye were the worst, and not too bad at that. You'll be in my thoughts as you tend to your flock.

I am so sorry! You do what you need to do for the Engineer and Pony Girl - we'll be here thinking of him and waiting with you until you're back.

Oh so sorry to hear that. I have a bike riding husband and that makes me paranoid enough...I'd be worse if he used sharp tools for a hobby (he is very un-coordinated) Wishing him a speedy recovery and not too much stress for you. :(

Poor Engineer!

The ouch & the horror of it all... I know a little of what you are going through The Boy almost cut off his finger once (Butcher) & had to have surgery on it in the wee hours, I can't remeber if that was before or after he stabbed himself in the leg.... ;)

((Hugs)) to you & get better/surgery success vibes to your Mr.

Best of luck with the surgery!

My man put three of his fingers into a milling cutter a few years ago. There was nothing much left to sow back on.

It was pretty freaky nad scary to start with but he recovered amazingly fast and has since lived happily with a few less nails to cut.

Good Grief it's all happening at your house! Get well soon poorly hand...
Just got to say how excited I was to see the lumberjack's on top of the world...I'm assuming there's been an upturn in the relationship stakes, and Ponygirl...just when you thought it was safe to get back in the water! x

goodness! I am dreadfully behind! We send our very best and hope all is well with the hand (thinking some physical therapy will be in order?).

Let us know if we can do anything to help (I can send reinforcements in the form of Chelsea)

Oh No ,the poor Engineer!Hope his hand recovers soon!
When my Hubby was my boyfriend, many years ago, he was using a band saw. As he was pushing the wood through, the saw hit a knot, so he pushed a bit harder and his fingers hit the saw! Lucckily he just cut though his fingers and it could all be stitched!

My heart skipped ten beats! Poor Engineer! Poor you! Poor Family! If there was a way to send a casserole overseas it's be at your doorstep in an hour. Hope he recovers smoothly and quickly! Get some rest! xo m.

Gulp. The Mr has scared the living daylights out of me before with a circular saw and managed to get out of all that hand holding that a Mr is supposed to do when his wife is in labour. Strangely, I remember more about the saw than the actual labour.

Wishing the Engineer a fabulous surgical recovery and some great lessening in the cringing. Gulp.

(or should we just cut to the chase and set up a cringing support group?)
