Murphy's Law, that is.
This past week has been ruled by Murphy, pesky little feller.
There was an episode with our Ford 250 truck, Bessie, where the Chilton led us astray and the DIY spirit may have cost us a transmission.
In other vehicle news; the new (to us) Toyota we got to replace our old wagon - has stirred up a Title issue that might have us spending a fortune in phone calls to Arkansas and on a tedious treasure hunt for missing paperwork.
There is also my embarrassing gaffe in the blogosphere. I was so kindly presented with an award and proudly displayed said award but, failed to follow through with the rules of the award...
1. Put the logo on your blog or post
2. Nominate 10 blogs that show gratitude or great attitude or both
3. Be sure to link your nominees within your post
4. Let them know they have received this award by commenting on their blog
5. Share the love and link this post to the person whom you received your award from"
I didn't just ignore that part, honest. I have fleeting and sometimes few moments with the computer. I grab the time I can and often take a day or two to finish a post. On the award post day, I had intended to finish it up with my nominees, for some reason I scheduled the post instead of just saving it as a draft...so, the post appeared in all it's selfish glory. I forgot to remember...um...excuses, excuses. In trying to rectify the situation I found that all the blogs I thought to nominate had already received this award recently, and now? I wouldn't be surprised if the award given to me for gratitude and attitude were rescinded.
Then, there is my annoying overuse of ellipsis in the previous paragraph.
...and the dozen other little things that went askew.
It has simply been a crazy mixed up week, nothing soul crushing nor insurmountable, just a little humbling. It actually makes me realize how fortunate we really are. I have this great family that gets through with humor, hard work and comfort food. It also helps me understand that in the midst of things going wrong, so much is going right that I have to thank my lucky stars.
...and Murphy, I'm sure I'll be seeing you around.
No way the award could be taken away from you! Claire knew what she was doing!! I too have a problem with awarding this award to someone who hasn't already gotten it! hahaha So, i will tag the ones that i can and try not to worry. These awards are supposed to be fun but sometimes it is a lot of work, and sometimes we just don't have the time. It all works out...
When I gave the award, I nearly wrote that people could voluntary ignore the "rules" because rules are meant to be broken/bent. I was just delighted to be able to award it around to some favorite blogs. So don't even give it a second thought!
But, I digress, because I have a HUGE thank you to give to you! My wonderful and sweet little ornaments arrived this very day. Why, you ask, on a day when the post office is closed?! Well, my dear postmistress calls me when hatching eggs arrive, and I had 2 boxes this morning. She was in the office briefly to sort mail for tomorrow, and when she saw I had eggs, she called me to ask if I wanted to come get them. I did, and she gave me my other packages at the same time!
You are, without a doubt, the most creative person I know! I love the little map envelopes! And I love the blue pouch it all came in. I don't know how you knew that green was my fave color (but my owl is perfect as a result!). But the best, truly the best, is my llama journal. The colors! Perfect! The llama herself is unmistakable, and that bookmark! With animal quotes! You are amazing. Really. And so very kind and generous. If you lived closer, I would invite you to dinner immediately!
Instead, I must away to my craft bench and get on with felting those sheep! They will be on their way, I promise!
Thanks a million! You made my day. Heck, you made my whole week! Murphy should be keeping his distance now...
Oh, and I forgot, I LOVE the new orange buttons header. Looks super!
I am so glad you liked your package of goodies. I had such a fun time putting it all together. I wish we could come for dinner!
thanks for the compliments and if you want to see murphy in action you'll love this one.
